Work out your skills with a professional coach.

Your voice — and your skill at interpreting a script — is a muscle that needs exercise. That's why I teach the Voiceover Gym Class. (Sneakers and gym shorts not required. A water bottle is still a good idea.)

In this six-week class, I coach four students through real commercial VO spots. You'll get hours of on-mic time with line-by-line feedback, and techniques you can apply to deliver a compelling read on any script. We wrap up each week's session with some critical listening on real broadcast spots.

I record the class and podcast the recordings, so you can review the material and evaluate your performances, at home or on the go.

Flip the script.

I'm constantly transcribing broadcast spots and collecting audition scripts from talent agents. I seek out voiceover-driven spots that are playing on national TV right now. With new scripts popping up in every class, I've had students come back to take this class two, three, and four times.

Beginner or Advanced?

If you're a beginner just getting your feet wet, this class is the place to stretch your limits.

If you have a demo or an agent, and you've voiced professional jobs, this class will strengthen your audition skills.

Most of my students fit somewhere in between. Since the class is limited to just four students, everyone gets individual attention. Over the course of six weeks, I will choose commercial copy specifically for you, and you'll gain an understanding of your individual strengths and the jobs you're likely to book. You'll also expand your range on new material.

Don't sweat it. Get individual attention and hours of time on mic in the smallest group voiceover class in Chicago.

My students say it best:

"Whether you have a background in acting or not, Maya frames her knowledge of the commercial voiceover industry in a way that is extremely easy to assimilate. The small, 4-person classes ensure that each student gets plenty of studio time, and lots of individual attention. At $395 for six sessions, the Voiceover Gym Class is an excellent value, and a key investment for anyone looking to break in to the commercial voiceover industry."
