Want to be a professional voiceover talent?
You're going to need a professional voiceover demo.

What's a voiceover demo? It is a demonstration of the very best work that you can do.

Its purpose is to get an agent to say, "Hey, I could cast this person on a national TV campaign and make a huge commission."

It's a one-minute fireworks display that showcases...

You...and Your Type

Your VO demo is supposed to sound like a) real commercials and b) yourself.

So it's all about authenticity. Type means, who are YOU? For example, I can describe...

Ben Muller as sophisticated, dry, witty, articulate:

Deborah Craft as a "fun mom," young, real, from wacky to sincere:

Justin Marsh as a wry comedian, approachable expert, loveable geek:

Simply put, type means you are marketable.

Your Individual Strengths

Because your demo will be an individual expression of your strengths, it's important that I learn what you do best as a talent before we jump into production. You can take my Voiceover Gym Class, or we can do private coaching sessions. Either way, I'll learn about you, and you'll determine if my coaching style is a good fit for you.

After you have some coaching under your belt, together we'll choose several pieces of commercial copy that are well-suited to those strengths, and we'll schedule your first demo tracking session!

In This Economy

The process works a little differently for each talent, but in in general, we can expect 3 to 5 separate one-hour coaching/tracking sessions for $95/hour. Then I'll do 8 hours of music search, mixing and editing at $50/hour, and a flat fee of $525 for music licensing. This is exactly how I produced all three of the above demos.

All told, your demo will end up costing under $1400, and the training that you internalize (which you'll be able to apply to auditions and bookings for as long as you're doing voiceover) will be invaluable.

My clients say it best:

"Maya chose copy that was very well-suited to my talents, and she provided a professional, stress-free atmosphere in which to record the best possible examples for my demo. Her coaching throughout the process was invaluable. I am extremely pleased with the end result."

- Ben Muller

"A great experience all the way around. Maya was able to tailor her feedback to my level of experience and skill, and because of her I cut my first demo and am out auditioning for work right now. Maya has an excellent ear - her feedback is always spot-on. She would catch the nuances I was missing and knew how to tell me what to change to get the result I was looking for."

- Deborah Craft

"Maya had the patience and know-how to coach me in the right direction. As a result of her guidance I now have a professional-sounding demo that I can honestly say I am proud of."

- Justin Marsh
